Weaver took a look at my Nancy and, loud enough for everybody to hear, said "when I look at you, I wish my wife were dead."<br /><br />Nancy was indeed quite attractive. But I kinda felt for Weaver's wife.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3870592984822938495.post-42196305213986720552022-06-26T19:48:47.171-04:002022-06-26T19:48:47.171-04:00I enjoyed readingg your postI enjoyed readingg your postAllison Brookshttps://www.allisonbrooks.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3870592984822938495.post-66973352994444167332021-07-13T05:40:51.504-04:002021-07-13T05:40:51.504-04:00Someday, when I learn to write, I hope I prevail w...Someday, when I learn to write, I hope I prevail with an interesting story; it is said that to be a good writer, you must read alot. I can't, never could and it always made me feel bad. Like, what if I chose to live alot rather than read alot. There is much much more to his story than we can read here or in the story itself. My father's personal story is one of resilience, humour, positivity, and creativity. I came across this post because I just read her story and was trying to look up other pieces she had written; I was so taken by "Victoria." My friend and I will be discussing it in our monthly "aspiring writers" meeting. If you do know where any of her other writing is published, I would be grateful to learn what you know.TeenieTravelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06452387654041022931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3870592984822938495.post-54404088774422839402020-03-20T16:26:51.885-04:002020-03-20T16:26:51.885-04:00One of my favorite short stories of all time

I read the Rabbit series so many years ago, so I lost many memories through the relentless passage of time. <br />I'm planning to read the "Rabbit Tetralogy" again, starting in February. IMHO Updike was the greatest prose stylist of the twentieth century: close seconds are-Philip Roth, Ian Macewan, and Margaret Atwood. <br />I am very impressed with your running records. I used to run a lot, back in the eighties, but I didn't keep up with as long as you have. Bravo! You'll here from me, from time to time because I like the subject matter you choose and your writing. Unfortunately, I don't know if there are plans to digitize early editions of BASS. The works contained in those anthologies are quite important to american literary history. Sadly, the volumes seem to be disappearing as libraries weed their collections. This means their availability becomes restricted and well...I know you are aware of this...so I won't waste your time ;) Again, thanks for writing, take care! - Jakon Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3870592984822938495.post-74463832236371644262019-03-16T01:18:55.703-04:002019-03-16T01:18:55.703-04:00This is a fantastic website, Jakon. In fact, given a chance to have only 10 books on a desert island, one would be the New Testament the other nine would be the short story anthologies I like the most. Do know if there are any plans in the works to digitize the early editions of BASS? I will return. The next time with a small gift.
